Vatn Participates in ONR’s Advanced Capabilities Experiment

Vatn Systems recently participated in the Office of Naval Research's Advanced Capabilities Experiment (ACE), focusing on US Marine Corps (USMC) small boat payloads for maritime reconnaissance and counter-reconnaissance operations. The experiment aimed to identify, employ, and evaluate enabling technologies in a realistic operational environment, integrating operational forces with technologists to refine capabilities and accelerate technology maturation based on operational findings and warfighter input.

The ACE objectives included validating selected technologies' ability to enhance military utility, demonstrating integration with warfighter missions, and collecting technical performance data and warfighter feedback to inform technology recommendations and future development. During this initiative, Vatn deployed its autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) to provide real-time data collection capabilities crucial for enhancing situational awareness and operational effectiveness in GPS-compromised environments.

Our AUVs demonstrated robust autonomous operation and collaborative swarming capabilities, contributing valuable insights to support USMC objectives. Vatn is dedicated to advancing autonomous technology for maritime operations, ensuring ongoing innovation and operational readiness for our partners.
